Cell Phone Usage on the Second Floor Video Transcript

Student Bear: Hey, I gotta go. Bye. (cell phone closing noise)

Librarian Bear: Excuse me.

Student Bear: (pause) Yes.

Librarian Bear: Hi, I’m a Librarian and I just saw you using your cell phone here on the second floor of the Library.

Student Bear: Yeah. So.

Librarian Bear: Do you not see that sign over there? “Quiet Study Area. Cell phone usage is strictly prohibited…”

Student Bear: That call was important. My boyfriend needed to know what to pick me up for dinner.

Librarian Bear: I’m sorry but, regardless of your call’s stature, cell phone usage is not allowed on the second floor of the Library.  I will need to ask that, in the future, you refrain from answering or making cell phone calls on the second floor of the Library. Please, either send your incoming calls to voicemail or step into the stairwell or lobby to complete them.

(cell phone rings)

(student bear answers her cell phone)

Student Bear: Hello? Hey, what’s up? Nothing much just hanging in the Library. What are you doing?

Librarian Bear: (faces camera and shrugs then speaks to camera’s audience) Please help prevent noise pollution on the second floor of the Library by doing your part in respecting the rules of the Library and the library’s staff. If a cell phone call is really that important please simply walk over and out to the stairwell or lobby to take it. We realize this may be a bit of a hassle to you but please know that others around you will appreciate you respecting the quiet of the quiet study area here on the second floor. Remember, only you can prevent noise on the second floor.
