The Giver… Read it before it hits the bigscreens!

According to this article on Variety… It looks like the young adult book, The Giver, is the next big film adaptation.

Jeff Bridges and producer Nikki Silver are taking another stab at a bigscreen version of Lois Lowry’s young adult novel “The Giver.”

They had been developing a feature version of the popular book for nearly a decade before it wound up at Warner Bros., which ponied up nearly $1 million to set up the tome with Red Wagon’s Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher in 2007Variety.

If not, the book’s mysterious summary sums up its storyline as “When Jonas turns 12, he is singled out to receive special training from The Giver. Now, it’s time for Jonas to receive the truth. There is no turning back.”

Definitely seems like a great summer read! You can find it on the 2nd floor of the Library at call number PS3562 .O979 G583 2006.
